Body System

Integumentary System (Skin)
Structure- The skin is composed of three layers, outer layer called epidermis composed of several layers of fat ,epithelial cells; middle layer called dermis constructed with loose connective tissue fibers, withing which contains blood vessels, hair follicles, sweat and oil glands, and various sensory nerves (touch, pain, heat, and cold), innermost layer called fascia composed of several layer of fat cells, as wells as an array of blood vessels and sensory nerves, also the layer that is contact with the interior organs and tissues (bones, muscles).
Fucntion-Temperature regulation- maintaining temperature at equilibrium.
Physical barrier- resisted the entry of environmental particles.
sensory Organ- which allows us to sense our body parts.
Primary Energy Storage-site through fats stores within adipose fat cells.
Site of the synthesis of vitamin D.

Muscular system
Structure- there are three types of muscle in the body, Cardiac muscle found in the walls of the heart, Smooth muscle found within the walls of the gastrointestinal tract, blood vessels, and reproductive act, and Skeletal muscle found in association with our skeleton under voluntary nerve control.
Function- The maintenance of posture whether sitting, standing, and walking.
Permits voluntary movements of our body and its parts.
Major source of heat production ( when sugar and fats are burned to produce ATP)

Nervous System
Structure- is composed of two parts; the central nervous system that is composed of the brain and spinal cord, and the peripheral nervous system is composed of nerves that carry messages to and from the central nervous system.
function- controls all body activities.

Endocrine system
Structure- is composed of dozens of glands including the pituitary glands, thyroid glands, thymus glands, pancreas, testes, ovaries, adrenal, and parathyroid glands.
function-main roles is to regulated digestion, metabolism, and homeostasis.

Circulatory System
Structure-consist of the heart, arteries (carry blood away from the heart), veins (carry blood to the heart), capillaries ( gas and nutrients exchange occurs in the tissue) and blood.
Function- is to transport blood to every part of the body. Distributing all necessary gasses, nutrients, and wates  products.

Lympathic/Immune
Structure- This Lympathic system is composed of a network of veins vessels (Lympathics) and associated glands and nodes; interacting withing this system is a network of white blood cells in the immune system.
Function- protect the body from infections and antigens.

Respiratory System
structure- there are three parts of this system the first is the trachea, which is the pass way from the mouth to the nasal cavity. then the trachea divides into two bronchi, that are smallest tubes that go directly to the lungs then connects to the bronchioles that goes to the aveoli where gas exchanges occurs with the blood.
Function- this system is primary responsible for getting oxygen to our cells and tissues, and for getting rid of wates and carbon.

Digestive System
Structure-the digestive system begins in the mouth continues with the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and ends at the rectum.
Function-role of this system is to physically and chemically break down the food we eat and make the nutrient components available to the body cells and tissues.

Skeletal System
Structure- is composed bones of all shapes and sizes, axial skeleton and the appendicular skeleton .
Structure-which provides protection to the inside organs, brain and spinal cord tissues and support all body parts.

Excretory System/ Urinary System
Structure- this system consist of kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder, urethra.
Function- its roles is to filter the blood and remove major wates and also to regulated the PH of the blood.

Reproductive System
Structure-females system is composed of ovary, uterus, vagina, and the males system is composed of testis, vas deferens, urethra, and penis.
Function- this system role is to reproduce the human spices.
