Darwin's theory of evolution vs. Lamarck's ideas regarding
                                   evolution

Theory of Evolution

  • Million of species of organisms present today, including humans, evolved slowly over billions of years, from a common ancestor by way of natural selection.

  • The idea of natural selection is that the individuals best adapt to their habit pass on their traits to their offspring.

  • Over time these advantageous qualities accumulated and transformed the individual into a species entirely different from its ancestors.

Cycle of  Evolution

Ideas Regarding Evolution

  • Individuals adapt during their own lifetimes and transmit traits that they acquire to their off springs.
  • Offspring then adapt where the parent left off, enabling evolution to advance.
  • then individuals increase specific capabilities by exercising them, while losing others through disuse.
  • The interaction of with their environment is important in the evolutionary process.
